Absolutely. We carry comprehensive public liability insurance that covers all aspects of our work. This protects both your property and gives you complete peace of mind while we're on site.
We're happy to provide proof of insurance on request – just ask when you book. Many of our customers appreciate this reassurance, especially for larger projects or work on valuable surfaces.
-
No, you don't need to be home – and many of our customers prefer to be at work while we complete the job. As long as we have:
Access to the areas that need cleaning
Access to an outside tap or water supply
Any gates or side access unlocked
We'll send you before and after photos once the job is complete so you can see the transformation. We always clean up thoroughly and leave your property as we found it (just cleaner!).
Pro tip: If you have specific instructions about parking, pets, or access, just let us know when booking and we'll make a note.

Getting a quote is quick and easy. You can:
Call or text us on 077348 19803
Email us at info@sealoexteriorcleaning.co.uk
Use our contact form on the website
For the most accurate quote, it helps if you can send us a few photos of the areas you'd like cleaned, along with approximate measurements (e.g., "driveway is about 40 square metres"). Don't worry if you're not sure – we can work from photos.
We aim to respond to all quote requests within 24 hours, usually much sooner.
-
We accept multiple payment methods for your convenience:
Bank transfer (BACS)
Cash on completion
Card payments
Payment is due upon completion of the work, once you're happy with the results. For larger commercial projects, we may discuss staged payments.
-
Light rain doesn't stop us – after all, we're working with water anyway! However, we may need to reschedule in certain conditions:
Heavy rain or storms – for safety and quality reasons
Strong winds – particularly for gutter and roof work
Freezing temperatures – water can freeze on surfaces
If we need to reschedule, we'll contact you as early as possible (usually the evening before) to arrange an alternative date. Your booking always takes priority.
Driveway / Patio Cleaning
-
We clean all types of domestic and commercial driveways, including:
Block paving – the most common type, available in various patterns and colours
Tarmac and asphalt – including older surfaces
Concrete – plain, stamped, or imprinted
Natural stone – sandstone, limestone, granite, slate
Resin bound and resin bonded – requires careful, lower pressure
Indian stone and porcelain
We adjust our equipment, pressure settings, and cleaning solutions based on your specific surface type to ensure the best results without any damage.
-
The time required depends on several factors:
Size: A typical 2-car driveway (30-50m²) takes 2-3 hours
Condition: Heavily soiled or moss-covered surfaces take longer
Surface type: Block paving with re-sanding takes longer than plain concrete
Additional services: Sealing adds drying and application time
We'll give you an estimated timeframe when we provide your quote. Most domestic driveways are completed within a single visit (half to full day)
-
Yes – re-sanding is included as standard with all our block paving cleans. This is an essential part of the service, not an optional extra.
We use high-quality kiln-dried sand which:
Fills and stabilises the joints between blocks
Prevents blocks from shifting or rocking
Helps prevent weed growth
Improves the overall appearance
The surface needs to be dry before sanding, so we'll either wait or return if necessary to complete this final step properly.
-
We can significantly reduce the appearance of oil stains using specialist degreasers and hot water treatment. However, we believe in honest expectations:
Fresh stains: Usually respond very well to treatment
Older stains: Can be lightened considerably but may not disappear completely
Deep penetration: Oil that has soaked into porous surfaces like concrete or block paving may leave some shadow
We'll assess your specific stains and give you an honest expectation of what results are achievable. Often the improvement is dramatic, even if not 100% removal.
-
Yes, we offer professional sealing as an optional extra after cleaning. Quality sealant provides multiple benefits:
Stain protection: Creates a barrier against oil, fuel, and other spills
UV protection: Prevents fading and colour loss
Easier maintenance: Dirt and algae wash off more easily
Enhanced appearance: Brings out colours in block paving and natural stone
Weed prevention: Sealed joints resist weed growth
We use high-quality sealants suitable for your surface type, available in matt, satin, or wet-look finishes. Sealing typically lasts 3-5 years depending on wear.
-
Yes, weed removal is part of our driveway cleaning process. Our approach:
Pressure washing removes most surface weeds and moss
Manual removal of stubborn deep-rooted weeds where needed
Re-sanding fills joints to prevent immediate regrowth
Optional weed treatment can be applied to kill remaining roots
For severely overgrown driveways, we may recommend treating weeds a week before cleaning for best results. We'll advise based on your specific situation.
Gutter Cleaning
-
We use a professional gutter vacuum system that allows us to clean gutters safely from ground level:
Carbon fibre poles extend up to 12 metres (approximately 4 storeys)
Powerful vacuum removes leaves, moss, debris, and compacted silt
On-board camera system lets us see inside the gutters in real-time
Before and after footage provided so you can see the results
This method is safer than ladder work, causes no damage to gutters, and allows us to reach areas that would be difficult or dangerous to access by ladder.
-
Look out for these common signs of blocked or failing gutters:
Water overflowing during rain (the most obvious sign)
Plants or grass growing from your gutters
Sagging gutters – debris holds water which adds weight
Green algae staining on external walls below gutters
Birds or wasps nesting in gutters
Water pooling near your foundations
Paint peeling on fascias or soffits
Damp patches on internal walls near roofline
If you notice any of these signs, don't wait – the longer gutters remain blocked, the greater the risk of water damage.
-
As a general rule:
Standard properties: At least once per year, ideally in late autumn after leaves have fallen
Properties near trees: Twice yearly (spring and autumn) recommended
Properties with overhanging trees: May need quarterly cleaning
Flat roofs with box gutters: Often need more frequent attention
Regular gutter maintenance prevents costly water damage to your property. Blocked gutters can cause:
Damp and water ingress
Foundation damage from overflowing water
Fascia and soffit rot
Staining on brickwork and render
-
Yes, conservatory gutters are one of our specialities. Our pole system is ideal for conservatories because:
No need to put weight on glass or polycarbonate panels
We can reach all areas without risk of damage
Often combined with conservatory roof cleaning
Conservatory gutters are often neglected because they're difficult to access, but they're particularly prone to blockage as debris washes down from the main roof above.
-
Yes – checking and clearing downpipes is included as standard. Blocked downpipes are often the real cause of overflowing gutters, not the gutter itself.
We test water flow through each downpipe and clear any blockages. For stubborn blockages, we can use specialist clearing rods or high-pressure water jetting.
Roof and Exterior Cleaning
-
Our roof cleaning service is carried out using a combination of manual moss scraping, low-pressure steam cleaning, and a professional biocide treatment to safely remove moss, algae, and lichen without causing unnecessary damage to your roof tiles. Wherever possible, our team works from a mobile scaffold tower, providing a secure and stable working platform that helps minimise the risk of tile damage while allowing for a thorough and controlled clean. Every roof is individually assessed to ensure the most suitable cleaning method is used, protecting both your roof and your property throughout the process.
-
Yes – moss, algae, and lichen cause genuine damage to roof tiles over time:
Moss roots penetrate tile surfaces, causing micro-cracks
Moisture retention under moss leads to frost damage in winter
Tiles become porous and absorb more water
Heavy moss growth can lift and dislodge tiles
Blocked drainage channels cause water pooling
Professional roof cleaning and treatment can extend your roof's lifespan by many years, making it a worthwhile investment compared to the cost of roof repairs or replacement.
-
Steam cleaning provides immediate results, with dirt, moss, algae, and surface staining removed during the cleaning process. Once the roof has been steam cleaned, a professional biocide treatment is applied to eliminate any remaining spores and help prevent future organic growth.
Scrape and bicocide takes a little longer to see results. Over the following 3 to 12 months, natural weathering, together with the biocide treatment, continues to improve the roof's appearance by breaking down any remaining organic residue. The exact timescale depends on factors such as the roof's condition, the level of moss and lichen growth, the type of roof tile, and local weather conditions.
-
Yes, we clean all types of conservatory roofs:
Glass roofs – cleaned inside and out with purified water for a streak-free finish
Polycarbonate roofs – gentle cleaning to remove algae without scratching
Solid/tiled roofs – cleaned using appropriate methods for the material
A clean conservatory roof makes a huge difference to the light levels inside – you'll be amazed how much brighter your conservatory feels afterwards.
